Welcome to the MHS Clinical Informatics Fellowship and MHS Clinical Informatics Knowledge Sharing Site

Please click on the menu links to navigate around the site.

‘Intro to Clinical Informatics’ is an excellent first read if you are new to Clinical Informatics or to CMIOs (Chief Medical Informatics Officers). It and the AMIA website are good basic resources.

Medical Informatics (aka Clinical Informatics) became a Board-Certified Subspecialty in October 2011, with the first Board exams in Fall 2013.

The Fellowship Overview document will also help you decide if the fellowship is something you wish to pursue.

If you have any questions about the fellowship, the Master’s program, the application process, or anything else related to Clinical Informatics, please feel free to contact the Program Director or Program Coordinator using one of the methods below.

LtCol Scott Hulse, MD, MS, USAF, Program Director

Thank you for your interest. Take care.

Other Useful Documents/Links:

For potential applicants, you must go through your respective GME offices (if you have any issues, please contact me directly. There has been some confusion at the GME offices because we are a new subspecialty):

  • Air Force personnel go here: Air Force GME site
  • Army personnel go here: Army GME Site – https://www.mods.army.mil/medicaleducation
The only means available to apply for Army GME training is through the GME website, which is provided above. This website will not be activated until mid-July each year, once an approved school-year plan for training has been established.
  • Navy personnel go here: Navy GME Site
